There still may be time: the deadline to nominate a candidate to receive the Paul Yuzyk Award for Multiculturalism is March 1, 2010. The federal Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism annual award recognizes “individuals who have made exceptional contributions to Canadian multiculturalism and the integration of cultural communities and new Canadians.”
In an interesting spin, the award recipient then chooses an eligible non-profit Canadian organization to receive a $20,000 grant.
This year’s winning recipient will be announced at an awards ceremony in June. Nominations need to be postmarked by March 1, 2010.
